Graduate Software Engineer (C/C++) - Dalgety Bay, Fife

 About the Role

We are searching for a junior/graduate software engineer (C/C++) who is available immediately to join our merry crew of talent in the streaming team. We are overrun with projects crying out for you to pick them up and see them through to completion.

We create IPTV and Digital Signage products from our office in Dalgety Bay, Fife. Some of the biggest names in the world will rely on you to provide a solution to their Signage or IPTV desires. From top football teams to the world’s best known broadcasters, the list of customers you’d be dealing with are spread across industries and all over the world. But of course some are right on our doorstep, we want to help our local guys right?

The day starts at 9ish with a scrum in the soft play area (and a fight for a bean bag). Back at your desk, discussions with the other talent is encouraged in amongst all the TVs, this is not a quiet office. How else will we learn what you can do and how will you learn from others? Poker sessions with straight faces and cards are used to estimate effort for each project and task. Every two weeks we have retrospectives where we look back and either pat ourselves on the back or clear the air of anything we think could have gone better.

About You
Well we want some experience or at least some proof that you can code in C/C++, the applications won’t write themselves. Working in the streaming team you will get involved at all levels of pushing and playback of streamed video. From encoding HEVC UHD to a 4K smart TV, re-encapsulating video from airport camera feeds to working with the Chrome PNACL API to rendering HD video on Chromebooks and HLS output to iPads and iPhones. It’s a challenge, but the streaming team will help you on the way to greatness no doubt about that.

Academic achievement is great, but we want people with the right motivation too, self-learning is a great skill and you’ll need it as the world is not static.

If you don’t have a degree, cool if not you’ll need to prove that you have some real-world experience of coding in C/C++, personal project or something else to show off your talent.

The rewards of working with us are many, but the best reward is seeing your creation making a difference somewhere around the globe. Come join us and let your talent make a difference.
