TV and Video over the LAN
Exterity IPTV receivers make TV and video channels available to analogue and digital TVs and AV display devices from a standard IP network (LAN). This eliminates the need for an expensive additional video cabling system, and picture quality is maintained, no matter how many users are added.
The wall-mounted isocket IPTV receiver provides a secure method for providing access to IPTV content at fixed points, while the free-standing idaptor IPTV receiver can be used with both fixed and portable display equipment. The idaptor TriplePlay receiver provides connections for an IP telephone and PC internet access in addition to TV and video, whilst; an optional mounting bracket provides for secure installation.
As part of an Exterity Building IPTV solution, IPTV receivers deliver five primary benefits:
- Easily distribute multiple channels to hundreds or thousands of users over a standard LAN without the capital cost and operating expense of a separate video cabling system
- Quickly add users anywhere on the LAN without degrading picture quality
- Easy administration via web management interface or SNMP network management tools for reduced operating expenses
- More granular control over channel access and audio options than traditional coaxial systems: by user or group
- Provides composite (PAL), S-Video, RGBS, or component video output to extend life of existing TVs and display devices and support new equipment
In addition, the idaptor TriplePlay receiver enables the delivery of video, IP telephony, and PC internet access through a single, simply-installed device for even greater savings on capital expenditure and operating expenses. Exterity IPTV receivers also integrate seamlessly with standard IPTV equipment from many other manufacturers.
