Video and TV on PCs
Avedia PC clients give users easy access to TV and video channels on your LAN. These channels can include on-demand (avediaCentre only) and scheduled video channels, Freeview, satellite, decrypted TV, and live encoded video from DVD/Blu-ray players and video cameras etc. Exterity offers three different PC clients to adapt to specific organisational needs:
- AvediaCentre offers the widest range of viewing and recording functionality, including scheduled recording and the ability to pause live TV
- AvediaPlayer integrates with a video client such as Windows Media Player to offer quick access to TV, video, and radio streams.
- AvediaPlugin enables developers and end-user organisations to easily incorporate simple video viewing into Digital Signage systems, intranets and Windows-based applications
As part of an Exterity Building IPTV solution, Avedia PC clients deliver four primary benefits:
- Transform any Windows-based PC into an easy-to-use TV and personal video recorder (PVR) (avediaCentre only)
- Rapidly roll-out video services using existing PC resources
- Easily distribute multiple channels to hundreds or thousands of users; add users without affecting picture quality
- Eliminate the need for separate coaxial TV network
AvediaCentre
- The AvediaCentre PC client is a stand-alone TV and video viewing application that transforms a PC into a full-function personal video recorder.
- Separate, automatically-generated listings for TV channels, video channels, radio stations, and AvediaServer on-demand and scheduled channels
- Pause and restart live TV or any video playback
- Record any TV or video channel for later playback
- Schedule recordings for unattended operation, even if AvediaCentre is not running at scheduled time
- Control volume and viewing options (full screen image or view on window)
