Recording AVEDIASERVER RECORD The AvediaServer Record module centralises your video recording capabilities, preserving local desktop disk space and offer better management of video resources. It provides simultaneous continuous-loop recording of both HD and SD channels, to a limit of 200Mbps; for maximum versatility, channels may be video, audio, or a mixture of both. A simple web interface uses the Exterity Channel Listener to populate a list of recordable streams. Administrators may select any of these channels for recording. Recordings can be made on a continual "sliding window" basis, or scheduled to record over a specific period. The hours available in the recording window are dependent on the storage capacity of the Record module, the number of channels selected for recording, and whether they are HD or SD. Depending on the AvediaServer disk size and the size of the MPEG channel, you may record over 100 days of SD video or over 30 days of HD video. Once recorded, an administrator may export the content in full or extract clips for storage either on user PCs, AvediaStream Play module or exported to 3rd party applications for re-purposing. AvediaPlayer Desktop AVEDIAPLAYER DESKTOP The AvediaPlayer Desktop is a media player that allows the AvediaServer platform to deliver highly interactive access to TV and video content on PCs and Macs without the need to install or manage a software client. It gives users seamless browser access to all live and recorded channels under full administrative control. AvediaPlayer Desktop also provides virtually unlimited scalability to support large numbers of users by eliminating the management burden associated with the installation and update of software IPTV clients. Among other capabilities, users can select live broadcast TV, radio or VoD content in SD or HD, browse channel schedules from the Programme Guide, choose the language for subtitles or audio, and pause or skim through VoD content.
