The latest product from Exterity, the idaptor?A?A?A?? AV Receiver, an
ultra-small digital media adaptor that can connect any display or television
discretely to a network.
Edinburgh ??" March 02, 2004 ??" Exterity Limited, AV networking company, today
announced the launch of its latest digital media device, the idaptor?A?A?A?? AV
Receiver.  This very small device can be discretely attached to any TV display
and instantly give it access to all television and video on a buildings network.
Commenting on the new product Colin Farquhar, CEO of Exterity, said "our goal
has always been to integrate the delivery of digital media into the
infrastructure of a building.  The iSocket?A?A?A?? does this by being mounted in
a wall or trunking system, but this doesn't suit every installation.  The
idaptor?A?A?A?? now allows the full capabilities of the iSocket?A?A?A?? to be
delivered to a display by simply attaching it to the idaptor"
The idaptor?A?A?A?? is targeted at hotel and hospitality markets and will be
used to deliver digital TV and video into hotel rooms or public areas of
buildings.  The small form-factor of the idaptor?A?A?A?? (possibly the smallest
set-top-box available on the market today) also makes it readily integrated into
displays and other systems requiring MPEG-2 decoding from a IP network stream.
