Exterity launches first iSocket product and announces further funding round to support delivery of technology to hotel market
Edinburgh """ July 15, 2003 """ Exterity Limited, Rosyth based audio/video (AV) networking company, today announced that it had completed a ??430,000 funding round supported by existing investors, the Scottish Enterprise Business Growth Fund and the DTI under the Small Firms Loan Guarantee Scheme. This funding enables Exterity to deliver its range of iSocket products to the hotel and hospitality market, to establish a commercial presence in the south of England and to increase staffing by 50%.
Commenting on the funding, Colin Farquhar CEO of Exterity said, "The market for AV networking is set to explode. We??A?A?A?ve spend the last 9 months exploring market opportunities ranging from delivery of hotel services to rooms over IP, through retail broadcast and on to multi-room access to AV in the home. Completion of this funding is a key step towards the iSocket becoming the easy way that AV appliances are attached to networks".
