Isocket Offers New Revenue Opportunities To Hotels

Exterity launches first iSocket product that allows hotels to deliver digital quality TV, entertainment and information services.

Edinburgh ??" July 01, 2003 ??" Exterity Limited, Rosyth based audio/video (AV) networking company, today announced A new electronic device providing a simple way for hotels to supply their bedroom televisions with high-quality digital TV, video, radio and information.

The iSocket ??" which looks like a wall socket and installs like a wall socket ??" is now available.

The device is embedded in the wall and is therefore both secure and tamperproof. It connects to the TV set via a simple SCART lead.

It is able to provide premium TV and movie services in every room, as well as broadband internet access, without additional in-room equipment. And new channels can be added quickly and easily.

Services delivered to the hotel bedroom can be enabled or disabled, based on guest type or tariff.

The system can be managed within an individual hotel or centrally from a head office.

It uses a single network for all services ??" the same network being used for in-room entertainment, hotel IT and security.
