Exterity Signs New Partner To Bring Network Av To Scotland

07 April 2005

Exterity partners with Internet and IT Services Specialist Cairn Solutions

London, 07 April 2005: Exterity, a specialist in network audio-visual (AV), has today announced that it has partnered with Cairn Solutions, a Scottish provider of information technology and internet services.  Through this agreement, Cairn Solutions will resell Exterity'A?A?A?s iSocket technology to deliver television and other multi-media content through a data network to schools, colleges and businesses throughout Scotland.  Using Exterity, Cairn Solutions can cost-effectively replace a traditional co-axial TV distribution system with a future proof solution, which can deliver more content and services.

"Over the past five years, schools, colleges and businesses have heavily invested in their networks and they are now looking to make the most of the huge bandwidth that is available to deliver multimedia services," commented Colin Farquhar, Chief Executive Officer, Exterity.  "Through working with Cairn Solutions we have the opportunity to target key education and business organisations in Scotland and help deliver a complete networked AV solution"

Working together, Exterity and Cairn Solution will deliver the following AV services via a network:

  • Campus or corporate wide TV in any language
  • Relay and replay of live events such as lectures, presentations and demonstrations
  • Campus or corporate news and information channels
  • On-demand access to libraries of educational video programs or corporate information
  • Video delivered to all displays and PCs on campus or corporate network

Cairn Solutions is currently developing "i-manage??A?A?A?, a bespoke management application system, to specifically manage and control Exterity??A?A?A?s I-Socket solution.  Through using i-manage, Cairn Solutions can view the status of every I-socket at the push of a button.

"Exterity??A?A?A?s products are a perfect fit with our overall solution," commented John Breslin, Managing Director, Cairn Solutions.  "iSocket is easily integrated into any data network and existing AV system enabling the system to deliver any material, anywhere, at anytime".

"The deal with Cairn Solutions forms an integral part of our plan to double the number of channel partners over the next year," added Farquhar.  "We are positive that they will help us to grow our business, whilst our products and expertise will help Cairn Solutions offer a much sought after technology".

Designed to integrate with Cisco IPTV systems, Exterity??A?A?A?s iSocket technology enables the distribution of a multimedia material such as video, TV and DVDs through a data network essentially replacing the traditional co-axial aerial system.  To do this, Exterity simply extends an IP (Internet Protocol) or Ethernet network capability, with multimedia services using a combination of its iSocket receiver, idaptor, server and TV gateway products.  The result is high quality digital video delivered anytime, anyway, at anywhere.
